Pretty much every Sarah Dessen novel:
The main character is such a troubled teenager and she’s also really attractive and lives with well-to-do relatives and she’s not popular but people know her name and there’s this boy that she really likes hanging out with but he’s also really troubled and some misunderstanding occurs but then they both get over it and admit their true feelings for each other and there’s always some nod here or there to another one of the books.
There’s also really interesting background characters but they don’t have problems like the main character does so they don’t really matter.
